For more in-depth information on Gamma, see the article on the RvB Wiki.
Gamma, also known as Gary, was one of the A.I. fragments manufactured by Project Freelancer; it was utilized to operate the Time Distortion Unit and assigned to Agent Wyoming. He represents Alpha's deceit.
Blood Gulch ChroniclesEdit
Gamma, going by "Gary" first appears after Church was blown back in time. He assists Church in looping through time in order for him to prevent Tex from ever coming (thought his time travel antics was actually the cause). He then reappears in the present to help defuse Andy the Bomb. Later on he announced the arrival of "The Great Destroyer".
Later on, it was revealed that "Gary" was the AI Gamma, assigned to Wyoming. During this time, he accompanies Wyoming to Blood Gulch, where they attack Tex, Church, and Tucker. Gamma takes control of the tank after Sheila is transferred to the Pelican. Upon arriving at the Red Base, Gary activates his Time Distortion Unit to take repeat the time loop until he and Wyoming got the desired result. However, because Tucker had the sword/key, Tucker was able to remember all of the events in every loop. This eventually helped stop the loop. Gamma was then trapped behind a firewall by Sheila. As Tex and the aliens were departing, Andy the Bomb detonated, forcing Sheila to crash. Eventually, Gamma broke loose, though he was soon captured by The Meta. He was destroyed by an EMP blast, but later comes back as a memory in Epsilon when they confronted the Director.
Role in Project FreelancerEdit
Gamma was one of three AIs, alongside Sigma and Omega, conducting experiments on the Alpha to harvest more AIs from it. He and Sigma also manipulated Carolina into getting two AIs after tricking her into believing that Tex was not as good as her without Omega.
Being Alpha's deceit, Gamma is shown to be very manipulative, often hiding important details from whomever he speaks to, except for Wyoming. In going with this, he and Sigma both exploited a loophole in a protocol that forbade AI from communicating directly with each other, instead, using Carolina as an indirect way of communication. He also seems to insult other people, namely Church. Gamma has a habit of telling horrible knock knock jokes, a trait that is soon reflected on his host.
- Gamma speaks with a synthetic, computer generated voice. This is coupled with robotic, jerky movements.
- Gamma got his tendency to tell knock-knock jokes from Wyoming.
